Our Mentor
SNAC is modeled after, and
mentored by, the Humane Alliance in Asheville, NC, which is a nationally
known prototype for successful high-volume spay neuter clinics. The
Humane Alliance's success has resulted in a grant allowing the
organization to mentor other clinics and to teach them how to create and
manage effective high-volume clinics.
SNAC was selected by the Humane Alliance after an involved application
process as one of the organizations the Humane Alliance will guide
through the process of setting up and maintaining its own clinic.
Clinics mentored by the Humane Alliance are slowly sprouting up around
the nation, helping regions nationwide to help end pet overpopulation
with a proven model.
The Humane Alliance sterilizes over 20,000 companion animals yearly in
over 20 counties, and has helped reduce the euthanization rate and the
shelter intake rate by over 75% in their area. Intakes at shelters in the region the Humane
Alliance covers are falling as its clinic continues to sterilize
increasingly high numbers of animals.
The Humane Alliance recently received an award for their work from the
North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association.
A visit to the Humane Alliance website provides much detail on the
organization, allowing those interested in SNAC to learn more about
SNAC's mission and services.
